this an I.R.S. program?
No, this is not an I.R.S. program. This program is administered by
1040Now. 1040Now is an IRS authorized e-file provider.
2. How much does it cost
to register for the Free Tax Prep & E-File program?
The registration process is easy and completely
FREE. Your registration is valid until the end of tax year 2011. After
registration, you can immediately prepare and e-file up to 1,000 federal tax
returns for FREE per tax season through the tax year 2011.
3. If the Free Tax Prep &
E-File program is FREE, how does 1040Now make money?
You are not obligated to use any of our
value-added services. However, we are confident that you will be
satisfied with our Federal Free Tax Prep & E-File Program; and in
return, you will use our convenient and affordable state
preparation and e-filing services.
4. Am I obligated to provide free tax
preparation or e-filing services?
Absolutely not. You can charge your regular fees
for any services rendered.
5. How can I be sure that my
EFIN and clients' tax data are secured and protected?
The Free Tax Prep & E-File web
portal is secured by GeoTrust's 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layers)
certificates, the highest level of encryption and security possible.
1040Now privacy and security programs have been certified by PrivacyBot.com in
accordance with all I.R.S. privacy and security requirements. Your
personal information is never viewed by any unauthorized employee, and we never
sell or rent your information for commercial purposes.
6. Are the tax calculations
accurate?
1040Now
guarantees to calculate all tax forms accurately or we will
pay for any assessed interests and penalties for all tax returns
prepared using 1040Now secured tax portal.
7. Do I have to buy a
software package?
No, you do
not have to pay for anything. There is no download or software needed. All
the preparation and e-filing will be performed electronically via our
website.
8. What are the advantages and
disadvantages of traditional software-based and web-based tax filing
system?
With the web-based
system, you can work anytime, anywhere with internet access. You
never need to transfer or update tax data among your office, home, and
laptop computers. Your tax data are automatically saved and backed
up securely. The disadvantages of a web-based system include (a) you
need internet access to prepare or e-file your tax returns and (b)
although you can store a copy of a tax return in Adobe Acrobat format in
your computer, you cannot make any changes to the tax returns unless you log
into your account online.
9. What are
the filing fees?
The federal tax preparation and e-filing are completely
FREE. We do offer state preparations and e-filings for all states at
the cost of $4 per return or $199 for unlimited state e-filings.
However, you are not obligated to use our state tax filing services.
Currently, we are offering the UNLIMITED STATE E-FILING program at only
$99 for the remaining tax year 2008 AND entire tax year 2009. To
take advantage of this promotion, you must register by 04/22/2008.
10. How do I pay
for the state filing fees?
There are two options: you can either (a) pay in advance by a credit or debit
card, or (b) choose to deduct the state filing fees from your
client's refunds.
11. How do I charge my
fees to my clients?
Your clients can pay you separately for the tax-filing services
rendered, or with clients' consents, you can elect to deduct your fees
from their refunds.
12. Does 1040Now offer
tax refund bank products?
We offer competitively priced Electronic Refund
Checks (ERCs), Electronic Refund Deposits (ERDs) and Refund Anticipation
Loans (RALs), we affiliate with Refunds Advantage.
13. Does 1040Now offer
entity products, 1041, 1065, & 1120 etc.?
Starting tax year 2009, all federal entity products
will be available under the Free Tax Prep & E-File program.
